NEW SCHOOLERS CAMP 2

AUGUST 20,21,22,23     9:00am to 4:00pm

This camp will be for the kids who are rolling, or who are well on their way to rolling their kayaks.  We'll aim to work on class II and easy III whitewater to further increase the New Schoolers paddling abilities.  With full day sessions we will do either 2 or 3 sessions per day and we will focus on getting bomber rolls in a variety or different directions.  We will also work on reading water and identifying hazards and how to avoid them.  Safety and rescue skills will be introduced so tha these guys will be ready to take the step up to Old Schoolers in the future.

Sections of River that we may use include:  The Mile 5 on the Athabasca, The Heritage Run on the Athabasca, The Falls Run on the Athabasca, The Lower Whirlpool, 5th to 6th Bridge on the Maligne and the Upper Miette.

We will meet at the Jasper Aquatic Centre at 9:00 each day and we will return the kids to the Aquatic Centre at 4:00pm each day.

Each kayaker will need to bring:
